Senior official visits seoul
China's Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Liu Zhenmin arrived in Seoul on Thursday shortly after wrapping up talks with officials in Pyongyang.
Experts said Liu's trip is the latest in China's "shuttle diplomacy" on the Korean Peninsula issue.
During his three-day stay in the ROK, Liu will meet Republic of Korea Deputy Foreign Minister Lee Kyung-soo and with the senior foreign affairs and security adviser to President Park Geun-hye, the ROK Foreign Ministry said.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said on Thursday: "China is willing to strengthen political communication with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The two sides should respect each other's interests and promote pragmatic cooperation."
