As one of millions of Chinese people studying or working abroad who meticulously selected presents before their trips home for the Chinese Lunar New Year, Cui Zishan, a young Chinese woman in Vancouver, Canada, had trouble picking out a suitable gift for her father. She had been extra careful in finding the right special gift in the North American country. By scanning through the list of items they are buying, we can see a unique cross-section of Chinese consumers' taste. The presents being purchased this year vary from daily necessities and luxury products to high-tech products.
