Leaders sign new constitution
Tunisia's leaders signed the new constitution on Monday that was adopted by lawmakers overnight. It was a key goal of the revolution three years ago that touched off the "Arab Spring". The historic document, seen as one of the most modern in the Arab world, was signed by outgoing Islamist premier Ali Larayedh, Speaker Mustapha Ben Jaafar and President Moncef Marzouki during a ceremony at the National Constituent Assembly.

Armed attackers kill at least 22
Attackers armed with guns and explosives killed 22 people at a busy church service in a northeast Nigerian village, witnesses said on Monday, in a region where the Islamist sect Boko Haram is resisting a military crackdown. They set off bombs and fired into the congregation in the Catholic church in Waga Chakawa village in Adamawa state on Sunday morning before burning houses and taking residents hostage during a four-hour siege, witnesses said.

Al-Shabaab chief dies in airstrike
The Somali government confirmed on Monday the killing of a commander of the al-Qaida-linked group al-Shabaab in an overnight airstrike in the south of the Horn of Africa. Somali Prime Minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed confirmed the killing of Ahmed Abdelkadir Amu Iskudhuuq.
