Chinese squad makes Sochi cut

China qualified for the women's curling competition at the Sochi Olympic Winter Games by beating Japan 7-6 in Sunday's playoff game between the first and second ranked teams at the World Curling Federation's Olympic qualification event in Fuessen, Germany. Japan secured the last available place in the lineup when it beat Norway 10-4 in Sunday evening's second playoff. China has also qualified for the men's competition at the Sochi Games in February.
