Aba signs contracts worth 41.6b yuan in investments

The Aba Tibetan and Qiang autonomous prefecture in western Sichuan province signed 46 contracts for projects worth 41.6 billion yuan ($6.8 billion) with outside investors during the 14th Western China International Investment Fair in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan, on Thursday. The deals involve sectors including energy development, tourism, services, agriculture, animal husbandry and manufacturing. Nearly 30 billion yuan of the total investment will find its way into energy development and the tourism sector, said Sun Yonghong, governor of the Aba Tibetan and Qiang autonomous prefecture. Situated on the southeastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Aba is Sichuan's second-largest Tibetan-inhabited area and China's major territory for the Qiang people.
