Dongfeng plant for new-energy vehicles

Dongfeng's new-energy vehicle plant recently broke ground in Wuhan, an important automobile manufacturing base in Central China.

Construction on the plant began on Sept 29 as the latest move in the automaker's new-energy blueprint.

With a planned annual production of 160,000 units and first-phase investment of 2.4 billion yuan ($394 million), the facility is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2014.
