The average annual wage of employees in China's urban areas increased from 24,721 yuan ($4,040) in 2007 to 41,799 yuan in 2011, an increase of 69.1 percent, according to the Annual Report on the Development of China's Human Resources released by the Social Sciences Academic Press in Beijing on Thursday. The average monthly pension for enterprise retirees reached 1,700 yuan in 2012, up 12.5 percent year-on-year, the report said.
