10.2 million

Nearly 10.2 million disabled people received aid from 2008 to 2012 and approximately 4.9 million people were lifted above the poverty line, according to the China Disabled Persons' Federation on Friday. The federation said China is progressing in developing social security for the disabled. More than 2.8 million disabled city dwellers have social insurance and about 5 million disabled urbanites now have basic medical insurance.
