Miguel Tejada, the Kansas City Royals infielder suspended for 105 games last week after testing positive for amphetamines, was not involved in the Biogenesis doping scandal, Major League Baseball said on Wednesday.
An ESPN report on Tuesday said Tejada was involved in the Miami clinic that was linked to doping along with a host of players in the biggest performance-enhancing drug scandal to hit the sport, but a statement by MLB denied the claim.
"The Office of the Commissioner investigated all allegations regarding players associated with Anthony Bosch and Biogenesis," the statement said. "The investigation found no violation by Miguel Tejada of the Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program."
