Embassy in Yemen reopens
The British embassy in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa will reopen on Sunday after being closed for 12 days because of security concerns. The embassy would open as normal from Sunday, British Ambassador Jane Marriott tweeted. The Foreign Office said on Aug 6 it had withdrawn all staff from the embassy due to a high threat of kidnapping.

Army captures drug cartel boss
A top leader of Mexico's Gulf Cartel was captured on Saturday in a military operation near the Texas border, the second major capture of a drug capo since President Enrique Pena Nieto took office in December. Mexico's government said the army netted Mario Armando Ramirez Trevino, a drug boss in Reynosa.

Gunmen shoot dead 11 people
Gunmen shot dead 11 people, mostly Christians, near a town in central Syria on Saturday, state media and activists said. The state-run SANA news agency described the attack as a "massacre" and said women and children were among the dead.
DPRK
DPRK agrees on family reunion
The DPRK said on Sunday it has agreed to the ROK's proposal to resume reunions for families separated since the 1950-53 war, in another apparent sign of easing tensions. Pyongyang has agreed to hold the event during the traditional Chuseok holiday that falls on Sept 19 as suggested by the ROK, Pyongyang's Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea said.
