Pirate publishers busted

In conjunction with law enforcement officials from seven cities across the nation, the police of Haidian district recently cracked down on an online piracy ring and took in 15 suspects, the largest group it has arrested so far. Last December, the local police found an online search engine with more than 200 member websites that contained some 8,000 works taken from a domestically renowned literature portal without authorization. The founder of the search engine, surnamed Zheng, earned more than 10,000 yuan ($1,600) every month from advertising fees from member websites.
