The reconstruction of a bridge that collapsed in the Tibet autonomous region on Friday is underway, and the bridge will likely reopen next month.
Located on the Sichuan-Tibet highway, which connects Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, and Lhasa, capital of Tibet, the Tongmai suspension bridge in Bomi county collapsed at about 11:30 pm.
"Two people in a truck from Gongzhong, a village in Bomi, Zhou Le, a 24-year-old tourist from Yixing, Jiangsu province, and Su Lei, a 25-year-old tourist from Anhui province, are missing. Both Zhou and Su entered Tibet on foot," said an employee of Bomi county government who did not want to be identified.
