Award recognizes artistic talent

The 2nd Yan Wenliang Art Award Ceremony will be held on Aug 31 at Suzhou Art Museum in Suzhou, Jiangsu province. Yan Wenliang (1893-1988) was a significant art educator in China. He founded Suzhou Art School in 1922 and Suzhou Art Museum in 1928 within the school. The art award named after Yan is a national academic event held every two years. Each year the judges select one outstanding established artist and one promising emerging artist. This year's established artist award goes to Zhong Biao, and the emerging artist award goes to artist Cui Xiuwen. They will present dual solo exhibitions that last until Sept 15. The award ceremony will be a cultural feast that mixes forums, exhibitions, parties and performances. Chinese leading artists and collectors will attend the event.
