Sino-Thai venture in the works

Next June, a joint ventue between SAIC and Thailand's Charoen Pokphand Group will become operational to produce right-hand drive models under SAIC's self-developed brand MG, the Bangkok Post reported. Established as SAIC Motor-CP Co, the venture will have a first-phase production capacity of 50,000 units. Total investment will reach some 400 million yuan. The vehicles will be mainly sold to Southeast Asian countries.
