Japan's oil field protest dismissed

Beijing on Wednesday dismissed a Japanese protest against China's oil fields construction in the East China Sea, saying it is taking activities in its own jurisdiction area. "It (China's move) is irreproachable," Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Hua Chunying said. China has never accepted the so-called Medium Line, and Beijing advocates shelving disputes and jointly developing the area before territorial problems are settled, she added.

Mandla Mandela loses court case

A South African court ruled on Wednesday that Nelson Mandela's grandson must return the bodies of the former president's three deceased children to their original burial site. The court ruled against Mandla Mandela, who moved the bodies of three Mandela children in 2011 from Mandela's hometown in Qunu to his birthplace of Mvezo, about 25 km away. The family members claimed Mandla moved the graves without the knowledge or consent of his relatives.
