Eric Chiang, secretary-general of Kaohsiung Commerce and Trade Development Association, speaking at a two-day forum on cross-Straits logistics that ended in Xiamen, Fujian province, on Monday. Experts at the forum called for improved logistics services to handle growing trade between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan, Xinhua News Agency reported. Trade between the mainland and Taiwan rose by 46.5 percent in the first quarter of this year to $51.44 billion, according to the General Administration of Customs.
