Red alert means in the coming 48 hours, at least one severe typhoon with an average wind speed above 150 kilometers per hour will land on or affect China, which may cause trees to be uprooted, buildings to be damaged and rough seas.

Orange alert means in the coming 48 hours coastal regions of China will be affected by a typhoon with wind speeds between 118 to 149 km per hour, damaging coastal buildings and plants.

Yellow alert means in the coming 48 hours typhoons with wind speeds between 89 to 117 km per hour will hit coastal provinces and regions, bringing gales and heavy rainfall.
