Family Farms
There were 877,000 family farms nationwide at the end of 2012, according to a survey conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture in March. Covering an area of 11.73 million hectares - 13.4 percent of China's arable land - the farms generated 162 billion yuan ($26.4 billion) in revenue in 2012.
