China gives thanks

China Daily | Updated: 2013-04-20 07:47

A Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said on Friday that the government has thanked the United States for aiding the relatives of two Chinese victims of the Boston Marathon bombing.

Spokeswoman Hua Chunying said the ministry and Chinese embassy in the US, as well as the relevant consulate general, have made their utmost efforts to communicate with the US after the tragedy.

The US Consulate General in Shenyang issued visas to Lu Lingzi's parents on Thursday to allow them to travel to the US. They will be accompanied by two relatives, said an official from the office.

Hua said China hopes the US will conduct a thorough investigation as soon as possible and bring those responsible for the bombings to justice.
