No cemetery plot restrictions

Authorities in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou denied rumors that a restriction on cemetery plot sales could be enacted in those cities, People's Daily reported. Online speculation was sparked by reports that major cities across China have a shortage of land for cemeteries. However, officials from municipal civil affairs bureaus in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou ruled out adopting such a policy.
