Pakistan
Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari has congratulated Xi Jinping, saying that the confidence reposed in Xi's leadership by the National People's Congress was a testament to his hard work and years of devoted service to the Chinese people. Zardari expressed the hope that China will achieve many more momentous milestones in its pursuit of national rejuvenation and peaceful development under his able leadership, and that the all-weather and multifaceted friendship between the two countries and the two peoples would be further strengthened and taken to new heights.
Republic of Korea
The ROK Foreign Ministry voiced hope for enhanced relations with China under the leadership of Xi Jinping. "With the new Chinese government, we hope to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries based on 20 years of dynamic progress in bilateral relations and contribute to stability and prosperity in East Asia," said ROK Foreign Ministry spokesman Cho Tai-young.
Philippines
Philippine presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda said the government extends its sincere congratulations as Xi Jinping was elected president of the People's Republic of China on Thursday.
