Muscle of change

The Power to Evolve is more of a self-help book revealing the secrets to success of Wan Jie, president of Artron Enterprise (Group) Limited. China CITIC Press' latest publication, it provides a typical case of corporate transformation over 20 years. Author Zhang Xuetao examined stories behind these critical moments of Artron's evolution, initially a publishing factory that Wan founded in Shenzhen in 1993. For instance, Wan took an order to publish auction catalogs in 1994, which most Chinese publishers declined at that time because of the sophisticated processing required. Now the auction catalog has become one of Artron's most important markets. Wan further expanded art services by publishing exquisite, award-winning art books and launching Artron.net, China's major art portal. "Artron has turned printing into a practice of art, during which it not only pursues accuracy, but also truth. It gives printing a new life," says famous connoisseur Ma Weidu.
