Test for troops

China Daily | Updated: 2013-03-11 07:59

The 21 Filipino peacekeepers released after being abducted by Syrian rebels will undergo post-traumatic stress debriefing, the Armed Forces of the Philippines said on Sunday.

"As a matter of procedure, our peacekeepers will be given medical attention to make sure that they are truly well and healthy. Likewise, a quick security debriefing will also be conducted. Although they were given adequate stress management training prior to their deployment, they will also undergo post-traumatic stress debriefing," said AFP spokesman Arnulfo Burgos Jr.

He expressed hope for the safety of about 600 Filipino UN peacekeepers and military observers deployed in nine mission areas all over the world promoting peace and stability in conflict areas.
