Plant accused of 'rotten meat' use

Polish inspectors on Friday halted meat processing at a plant in northern Poland after a television program alleged that it was adding rotten meat to its products. TVN24 showed footage of green-colored sausages at the plant, while an anonymous worker was heard saying they would be cleaned, dried and added to new products.

Queen resumes royal duties

Buckingham Palace officials said Queen Elizabeth II will resume her royal duties next week after a brief illness. Officials said on Friday the queen and her husband, Prince Philip, plan to attend a Westminster Abbey service on Monday to mark Commonwealth Day, with another event scheduled later in the week.

Military takes over Port Said

Egypt's police forces have withdrawn from the streets of Port Said on the Suez Canal, handing over security to the military after nearly a week of deadly clashes. The Interior Ministry said its forces turned over responsibility for ensuring security to the armed forces on Friday "to alleviate tension" in the city.
