Japan Special: Nissei continues its plastics revolution
China's plastics industry has achieved remarkable growth in production and expansion in the last decades, and one major Japanese player in the sector has grown in parallel by implementing a clear mission: "Our goal is to contribute to the well-being of communities through plastics," said Hozumi Yoda, president of the Nissei Plastic Industrial Co based in Nagano.
Yoda is the grandson of the company's founder, and he has taken on the responsibilty of continuing in his predecessor's steps. Nissei Plastic was started by Katashi Aoki in 1947, who set for himself the ambitious aim of revolutionizing the global plastics industry.
His dream was realized. Today the company is one of the world's largest suppliers of injection molding machines.In fact, over the course of his career, Aoki received 932 patents for his work.
