The discipline watchdogs of the Communist Party of China restored the reputations of about 30,000 wrongly accused officials during 2012.

Cui Shaopeng, spokesman for the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, said at a news conference on Wednesday that the Party's disciplinary inspectors dismissed false accusations against 29,551 officials.

According to the Legal Daily, unidentified sources said about 900 police officers, wrongly punished amid Chongqing Public Security Bureau's crackdown on organized gangs since 2009, had their reputations restored and salaries reinstated.
