A charity program aiming to popularize knowledge about chronic myelogenous leukemia and provide professional assistance along with effective and practical life guidance steps was recently launched in Beijing. The program was initiated by the China National Health Education Center under the Ministry of Health and sponsored by multinational pharmaceutical company Bristol-Myers Squibb. "We hope the program can help reduce cases of chronic myelogenous leukemia, enhance treatment efficiency and increase living quality of the patients," said Mao Qun'an, director of the education center. The program will provide related education on the disease to the general public, train medical practitioners and patients and conduct professional research and survey on the disease across 16 key Chinese cities.
