By Cheng Guangjin | China Daily | Updated: 2012-12-21 07:55

Australia is welcoming more Chinese investment now that the two countries are growing increasingly interdependent, said Australian Ambassador to China Frances Adamson, looking ahead to the 40th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral ties.

Since the two countries established diplomatic relations on Dec 21, 1972, bilateral ties have experienced "dramatic growth in all aspects," she said.

In the past 40 years, bilateral trade has grown from around $100 million to more than $100 billion.
