HIV/AIDS patients fight for equal opportunities in employment

By Xinhua in Nanchang | China Daily | Updated: 2012-12-03 07:43

On World AIDS Day on Saturday, Xiao Qi (not his real name) was unsure whether he would win a lawsuit against education authorities that he said turned down his job application because he is HIV positive.

In fact, his lawsuit against the education bureau of Jinxian county in Jiangxi province has not been formally registered for handling since it was filed at a local court on Nov 26.

Nevertheless, the young man is determined to pursue the legal battle. "Because this is not only for me, but for the whole group of people with HIV/AIDS who are vulnerable," he said.
