'Greenways' provide leisure, recreation

The Zhanjiang government plans to have 400 kilometers of greenways with 103 rest houses by 2015, which will be connected to other greenways in the Pearl River Delta.

Often a long narrow piece of land that provides recreational space for residents, greenways are increasingly popular with cyclists in the delta.

Three provincial-level greenways totaling 99 kilometers will be completed by the end of this year, according to the group leading the effort.
