Winter relief for veterans
Chinese veterans of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1937-45) will be helped through winter with a donation raised via China's largest online retailer, Taobao.com, Xinhua News Agency reported.
The program has raised the profile of this often overlooked group of heroes and also pointed the way forward for the Internet's role in ensuring the trustworthiness of charitable initiatives, the report said.
