Fighting on the online battlefield

With authorities continually warning of a growing threat to online safety, "white hats" may just be the answer to China's online woes.

White hat is an Internet slang for a non-criminal hacker who attacks websites and networks to help close any holes they find.

Like criminal hackers, they often work in groups. One such group is Woo Yun, which has been operating since 2010, and has more than 1,400 volunteers nationally.
