China News Service marks 60th anniversary

China News Service, the Chinese news agency mainly serving overseas Chinese media, has celebrated its 60th anniversary.

Premier Wen Jiabao wrote an inscription to celebrate the milestone: "Spreading Chinese voices, leaving historical memories."

Li Changchun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, commended the agency's 60 years of service in a congratulatory letter, urging it to build itself into a top-flight global news organization, by improving its coverage and consolidating and expanding its influence among overseas Chinese.
