Shocking act of an employer

Twenty toilet cleaners at Yuyuantan Park in Beijing finally received 3,000 yuan ($473) as their three months' arrear wages after the intervention of the municipal labor inspection department, but they got 300 yuan of the amount in the form of vegetables such as radishes and eggplants. Though in the end the cleaners were relieved to get their rightful due, their employer has reportedly threatened to find out the people who informed the labor inspection department and take "appropriate action" against them, leaving the employees worried, says an article on gmw.cn. Excerpts:

Workers create wealth and make a valuable contribution to society and deserve respect for that from their employers, government departments and the people. And most of all, they deserve their hard-earned money. But unscrupulous businessmen or administrative omissions at times deprive them of their due.
