Parts of Europe have been experiencing some of the hottest temperatures to hit the continent so far this year.
In Paris, tourists and locals alike gathered around a fountain next to the Eiffel Tower. Dozens of bathers cooled off in the fountain while others dipped their bare feet in the water.
Temperatures in the French capital reached around 36 C by Sunday afternoon. In Germany, where temperatures soared to 40 C, people took advantage of the good weather to go walking in the mountains or take leisurely boat trips on the lakes.
