China's up-and-coming golfers will tee off for a chance to compete in the Rio 2016 Olympics this week at the Qinhuangdao stage of the China Amateur Golf Futures Tour from Wednesday to Friday.
Right after the London Olympics, 144 young golfers will slug it out on Nandaihe Forest Golf Club's green. Fourteen percent of the participants are younger than 18 and have a shot at representing China in Brazil four years later.
"I hope I'll get the chance to play at the Rio Olympic Games in 2016, when I'm 16," said Jin Man, who became the Qingdao stage's women's champion earlier last month. Jin will compete in Qinhuangdao this week.
