China set to play Ghana

China Daily | Updated: 2012-08-07 08:10

The Chinese national team will play a friendly against Ghana in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, on Aug 15.

Ghana made its World Cup debut in 2006, and was the only African side to advance to the second round at the tournament. The team was the runner-up at the 2010 African Cup of Nations and progressed to the quarterfinals at the 2010 World Cup.

China has some downtime on its hands, with no formal matches to play after it suffered an early exit in the Asian zone preliminary of the 2016 World Cup.
