Tour winner should gear up for drastic changes, says Hoy

China Daily | Updated: 2012-07-25 08:11

Bradley Wiggins should be prepared for his life to be turned upside down after becoming the first British winner of the Tour de France, four-time Olympic gold medalist Chris Hoy said.

Hoy knows how cycling success can bring overnight celebrity and warned his British Olympic teammate to expect drastic changes now he had ended the country's hoodoo in that event's 99th edition.

"In the cycling world already he is such a superstar, and he is used to receiving a lot of attention wherever he travels," Hoy told reporters in a conference call after being named as Britain's flag bearer for the London Olympics opening ceremony.
