"Fake note cases and the number of fake notes discovered by financial institutions have been decreasing as a result of sustained crackdowns. Police departments will continue their efforts in dealing with major cases to safeguard people's interests and the country's economic security."

The Ministry of Public Security make a pledge in a statement on Sunday. Police across China have arrested 463 suspects in counterfeit money-related crimes and confiscated fake notes worth 118 million yuan ($18.5 million) in a special crackdown.
