158.9 Meters
The water level in China's Three Gorges reservoir, which is held by the Three Gorges Dam in Yichang, Central China's Hubei province, hit 158.9 meters high, this year's highest record, on Sunday evening, sources with the dam's managing authority said. The water level reached its designed highest mark of 175 meters on Oct 26, 2010. The world's largest hydropower project began handling seasonal floods at the beginning of this month. Two flood peaks, with a flow rate of 56,000 cubic meters of water per second, arrived at the reservoir on July 7 and 12.
