Billion yuan

Wang Baoan, vice-minister of finance, said more than 660 billion yuan ($104 billion) of the government fund has been saved since the Government Procurement Law took effect 10 years ago. The scale of China's government procurement increased 10-fold, from 100.9 billion yuan in 2002 to 1.13 trillion yuan in 2011. The procured items have expanded from traditional goods to construction projects and services. The proportion of imported products has been maintained at less than 3 percent.
