Long-anticipated Earth Summit text ready for adoption by world leaders

The long-awaited draft text of the Rio+20 Earth Summit was finished on Tuesday, after three days of intense negotiation and compromise during talks led by Brazil.

The document is ready to be submitted for formal adoption by world leaders during the high-level segment of the summit.

Premier Wen Jiabao is scheduled to attend the summit in Rio de Janeiro, where he will join an estimated 130 heads of state, ministers and diplomats from 180 countries and 50,000 other participants.
