Promotion to draw mainland residents

Government authorities of Taiwan's three major offshore islands came to the fourth Straits Forum to jointly promote local tourism resources for the first time on Saturday.

The three offshore islands - Kinmen, Matsu and Penghu - are destinations that are now open for individual tours to residents from Fujian province and some other mainland cities.

A part of Xiamen's Straits Forum, the promotional event attracted about 120 people from local governments, travel agencies and enterprises from the tourism industry.
