Cross-talk master commemorated

A series of xiangsheng (a Chinese form of comedic spoken performance, also known as cross-talk) shows will be staged in late June to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the death of xiangsheng master Hou Yaowen.

Organized by the Chinese Quyi (a general term for narrative folk performance forms) Artists Association and a number of local quyi artist associations, the commemorative performances will run from June 23-30 in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei province's capital Shijiazhuang and Shanxi province's capital Taiyuan.
