5.3 million yuan

A taxi driver in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, handed in a suitcase containing $150,000 and 550,000 euros ($688,000) in cash - equal to about 5.3 million yuan - that a passenger had left in his taxi on Monday midnight. Li Dongying, the driver, later received 300 yuan ($47) as award from his company. The owner of the suitcase is a Hong Kong resident and the money will be used by his sister to open a factory. Li, 44, earns about 6,000 yuan a month and his wife has no job.
