5m yuan for global law professorship

The US-based law firm Jones Day donated 5 million yuan ($794,000) for a faculty development project to Peking University to set up the Jones Day Chair Professorship for Globalization and Rule of Law on May 31. The aim of the project is to support the university's efforts in recruiting and retaining academics.

"Globalization is the most significant development in the history of the practice of law and, as it continues its march forward, we look forward to working with Peking Law School in fulfilling our duties as lawyers in a globally changing world," said Stephen Brogan, managing partner of Jones Day.
