HIV may be spreading to wider public: New report
About 30 percent of the country's HIV carriers are female and there are still more than 430,000 hidden carriers, China Philanthropy Times reported.
Most of the female HIV carriers are aged between 19 and 44, said Zhao Yan, an AIDS expert with the Ministry of Health. The increase of female-infection cases may indicate the disease is spreading from drug users to the wider public, said the report.
