More youngsters head to golf courses in China

China Daily | Updated: 2012-05-30 07:06

For a long time, golf was regarded as an elite and expensive sport.

However, its popularity is growing rapidly as an increasing number of youngsters head to the courses.

"When the sport was first introduced to China, most of the players were business owners or white-collar workers. That was the situation even just three years ago," said Mo Hongsong, deputy general manager of the Lake Hill Golf Resort in Haining, Zhejiang province.
