Exhibition Special: Las Vegas Asia Expo back after six-year break

After a six-year hiatus partly caused by the global financial crisis, the Las Vegas Asia Expo, an international sourcing exhibition, will return to the United States from Aug 13 to 15.
The expo, organized by Kenfair Exhibition (USA) Ltd, will take place at the Sands Expo and Convention Center. It will connect buyers in the United States, Canada and Latin America with suppliers in China and other Asian countries. It will also introduce Mexican and South American importers, distributors and wholesalers who plan to expand the volume of goods sourced from Asia.
The three-day event will showcase competitively priced export-ready Asian consumer retail products by bringing local suppliers directly to Las Vegas.
Due to the global economic downturn, buyers and suppliers are looking at the year ahead with caution. The past three years have seen a decrease in the buying power of the United States, Canada, Mexico and South America.
However, recent indicators show the situation has improved, and many suppliers are feeling confident about expanding their businesses.
Organizers said the Las Vegas Asia Expo will offer a convenient venue for connecting Asia with established US and Canadian markets. In addition, new economies are also expanding their Asian sourcing bases by searching for reliable and quality-oriented suppliers.
The sourcing event will carry a wide range of at least 500 suppliers from the Chinese mainland, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Taiwan, Japan, Bangladesh, Indonesia and the Philippines. They are gathered in one place for the convenience of regional buyers seeking sources and new business partnerships.
There will be everything imaginable on display, ranging from gifts, gadgets and luxury items to souvenirs, housewares, toys, games and stationery as well as festive and seasonal gift-wrapping paper and packaging.
These consumer retail products are produced in many countries, including China, India and other South Asian countries, and sold throughout the world.
There has been a significant improvement in the quality of products over the past three years. Asian suppliers are paying more attention to quality control and being more mindful of environmental impact by introducing more innovation and expanding their capability to design green products.
