Japanese from quake areas visit China
A total of 97 young people from quake-hit areas in Japan started an eight-day friendly visit to China on March 28 as a part of activities in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan diplomatic ties, Xinhua News Agency reported.
The delegation was led by Japan's former Prime Minister Tomiichi Murayama. The youths are from four quake-stricken prefectures Iwate, Miyagi, Ibaraki and Fukushima, home to the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant that was crippled by a major tsunami in March 2011. At the invitation of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, the delegation visited several Chinese cities, including Beijing and Shanghai.
